PROJECT OVERVIEW
At Astill Farm in Hastings, Berry Farms NZ grows 41% of New Zealand’s raspberry crop.
The raspberries are grown in pots and supplied with water and nutrients through drippers. Providing the right amount of each at the right time is critical to the success of the crop.
Isaac’s installed the fertigation equipment that runs this system and continues to provide Berry Farms NZ with pumping and electrical support.
PRECISION AT SCALE
The fertigation system is the heartbeat of the operation at Astill Farm.
At the centre of the system is a precision dosing unit that supplies the berry plants with water and nutrients. These are delivered through the farm’s network of drippers, allowing the plants to be fed exactly when they need it.
During the heat of summer, the system can run four or five times an hour. Its performance and reliability are critical to keeping the crop growing and the wider operation on schedule.
THE INSTALLATION BEHIND THE OPERATION
Isaac’s installed the fertigation equipment used to supply the farm’s berry plants.
This included the pumping equipment and electrical systems needed to operate the precision dosing unit and distribute water and nutrients throughout the site.
